Creative ideas and the approaches of individuals are encouraged through a number of projects and competitions, including the especially recognisable and acclaimed Trimo Research Awards. This has become Trimo’s traditional competition which encourages innovation and expertise in students at home and abroad. Trimo Research Awards are also important from the aspect of new opportunities opening up for students and companies alike.
“Young researchers get a lot of new knowledge and experience in practical work and an opportunity to tackle real entrepreneurial challenges. On the other hand, Trimo this way is also getting many new and fresh ideas that create trends. Consequently, different types of knowledge are exchanged that encourage cooperation between the company and universities at European level, which is even more important in the time of recession, and recognition of the company and students by the specialist public also increases,” said Danijel Zupančič, MSc, President of the Committee for Research Work and Deputy General Manager for the Technical Department in Trimo.
Tatjana Fink, MBA, Trimo’s General Manager, added that “one of the principal aims of the awards is to also encourage the transfer of information and ideas between Trimo and external knowledge centres that work in those fields of interest to Trimo, and encourage contact between the most promising students and the company. Trimo Research Awards are an important source for recognising and creating innovation and a solid link between academia and commerce. We are certain that the development of knowledge and cooperation within the company and with external partners strengthens our competitiveness in the long run.”
